Work and Play

This afternoon was so nice before the wind kicked in we thought we'd head out and rake up the never ending supply of pine needles. What a nuisance those are, but Eva G doesn't mind "helping" a bit--as long as we get to play a little, too.

Oh boy! Are things about to get I.N.T.E.R.E.S.T.I.N.G around here.

Yesterday our sweet girl realized that her little potty also doubles as a step stool. Oh what fun! Well, she pulled it up to the sink in our bathroom and decided she should "wash hands." And the light and fan switches are pretty fun to play with as well. And then there are the toothbrushes. If there's anything to know about Eva, it's that she looooves toothbrushes and toothpaste. We have no worries about her dental hygiene :) Anyway, the toothbrush holder we used to have on the sink has now been moved to a higher spot--this way we'll know where our toothbrushes are, as opposed to having them strewn throughout the house, as our girl is known to do with hers, which are in a drawer where she can easily get to them. We know it's only a matter of time before she figures out she can drag that stool around to other areas and get into even more.

As if that wasn't enough adventure for one day, she also decided to climb INTO the toybox last night. (it's completely safe as daddy has it set up so that there's virtually no way the lid will close). She stepped up on some of her foam playmats and climbed on in...

Pinks

And if we had planned this, it never would have happened!!

M and K didn't realize they were dressed so similarly and then we noticed Eva G was right there with them (just missing the white hoodie).

SUNday!

We got out and enjoyed a super nice day today. After the Arctic Express we've had around here the last while, it was time to get out and get some sun, so we headed out to an ice carving festival. The sculptures were incredible! The detail was simply amazing. Even though the sculptures were in the shade, the temps were so nice that a few pieces fell off and we saw lots of dripping sculptures. It was fun and there were lots of other people out enjoying the great day.

One of the most fun sculptures was a Dr. Seuss-inspired one with the Grinch and Max, Horton, and 1 Fish, 2 Fish. There was also an awesome Star Wars-type sculpture; though they were all really impressive. Eva G. didn't particularly care for the sounds of the saws that were being used so she didn't really want to get down and get close to any of the pieces.

 Max, in progress

Wednesdays and Cutting Back

Our Wednesdays are decidedly different these days. We used to have physical therapy every single Wednesday. We did that for more than a year. Then a few months ago we cut back to once every other week! That was exciting. And now? Now, we're down to PT once a month!!! Our sweet girl has made so much progress and is doing so many good things that "Nene" doesn't need to see her as often any more. It is such a good feeling. But in a weird way, it's bittersweet. We really like Nene  (it took Eva quite a while to agree, but now they're pretty good friends) and it's been nice to have someone along with us to make sure things were going alright and to guide us if there was something else we needed to work on. We'll certainly miss Nene when it's time to be completely done with PT, but we won't think about that now. Instead, we'll just enjoy a little more flexibility on Wednesday afternoons!

And the picture? Well, it has absolutely nothing to do with Wednesdays or physical therapy. Rather, it's just the face of a kiddo that just enjoyed an O.R.E.O!

Project 3 on 3

As we head into Eva's 3rd year, I thought I would try something kinda fun. I'm going to try to take

3 pictures from
3 consecutive hours on the
3rd day of each month of her
3rd year

So here we go with 2/3--

3:00--rockin the hat and a flashlight
 4:00--oh, the ball popper
5:00--helping make dinner
