We met up with M & L and spent a couple of hours at the zoo yesterday. We visited the monkeys and penguins and saw the hippos outside soaking up some some. We even got to walk into the chicken coop.
This is the story of our little girl who was born at 28 weeks 5 days, weighing just 2lbs 3oz. This is her journey and all of her adventures as she grows up.

Fuzzy Find
Look what Eva G found at Nana's...
He was sitting on the steps of the porch as we were getting ready to leave. Nana found a jar, we got a delphinium leaf and a couple drops of water and brought him home with us. Eva was very excited and checked on him several times on the drive home. This morning we thought we should give him a new leaf, so I pulled a lilac leaf and Eva pulled a leaf from one of the pepper plants in the garden. After I told her those were off limits, we put them both in the jar and watched as Mr. Caterpillar began chomping on the pepper leaf. The lilac leaf still remains untouched. Guess we know what leaves aren't off limits after all. He is fun to watch and gets going pretty fast in his jar sometimes. So, we'll watch and wait and see what this little guy does and in the meantime we're learning lots about caterpillars.

Homework
Cousin S was over yesterday evening and had to do some homework. As he started his math homework, Eva G suddenly needed to do hers as well. Will she be this excited to be doing real homework a few years from now?? We'll see...

March for Babies
Saturday was the March for Babies. The weather couldn't have been nicer. There were more than 1000 walkers!!! Eva G and other kiddos walked in the Preemie Parade before the actual walk started. She rode in the wagon part of the time, but also walked part of the route, as well. One of the best parts of the walk is hearing why people are walking--some stories are so inspiring, others are heartbreaking. It's amazing to be surrounded by so many amazing people walking so someday every baby is born healthy.
