SkippyJon Jones

This weekend we got to meet SkippyJon Jones! In Eva's words, "he's so cute." And he really was quite cute. There was a SkippyJon Jones program at the library, so we met Max and Luke there and listened to some stories, took a picture with Skippy and then tried to do some crafts. We got as far as making Skippy ears and part of a mask, but never quite got around to making the cape. Eva was one happy Skippita.

Glue 'n Nuts

We got a little crafty around here this morning. Eva G has really started to get into crafts; we have pulled out a few things here and there but lately she's started to ask for crafts. I'm not sure what she love more-- the thrill of pulling out all the colorful bits or the GLUE STICK!!

The morning portion of the project

The (mostly) finished product--just before naptime (maybe that's why her eyes aren't completely open)

I have a feeling this little critter is just in the beginning stages of creation, I imagine we'll be adding more bits and pieces in the next few days.

I also have to write this little story down so we won't forget it. We had a jar of nuts out last night and Eva wanted some. Well, since nuts and little kids aren't really supposed to go together, we were really hesitant, but told her she could have one if she chewed it really, really well. So I gave her half a cashew and she chewed and chewed and then said how yummy it was. So I said, "that was a cashew" and she says, "bless you!" Ha! How cute is that? She thought it sounded like a sneeze. That one really cracked us up, so of course she kept saying "bless you" over and over in hopes of getting the same reaction. Oh, what a funny kid.

Teddy Bear Picnic

This morning we went to the March of Dimes Teddy Bear Picnic. To be honest, we didn't picnic at all, but we did take a teddy bear. The playground was just too tempting for Eva G. We tried to participate in the little teddy bear parade, but again, that didn't happen. To be fair, a lot of the other little kids who were there didn't really participate, as the swings and slides and such just couldn't be resisted. It was a great morning to be out at the park and soak in some sunshine.

We had a fun and busy weekend. We helped out at a little library book sale and then watched a small town parade. Eva really got into running out to grab the candy (and popsicles!) being tossed. She was actually happy with the first few pieces she got and just wanted to eat a sucker, until she noticed more was coming down the street.

3 on 3

A little different this month--this time 3 pictures within the span of about an hour (or else we would have run into naptime).
So here's our hour from 12:30 to 1:30

she's always liked to lie on the stairs like this; at one time she used to fit just right on them
kitchen towel, Raggedy Ann, water glass...hmmm

this is one of her favorite toys--she spends a lot of time playing with this barn and the accompanying animals
